 We are a company of people dedicated to providing the best of the best vintage country cottage furniture and home accessories. As a small company, we are able to offer the finest personal one-on-one customer service.
Our physical store is filled with beautiful products and the friendliest staff one could ever imagine. Our online store...well, we try..... The truth is, It takes an enormous amount of resources to manage an online store (photography, product descriptions, pricing, etc.). In our online store we have placed a small selection of what is available in our physical store (sorry long distance people). But just ask, we'll do our best to provide you with exactly what you want.
We are very passionate about our work. Whether it be helping our clients decorate a room or a whole house. We approach every project, big or small with the same passion. From period home to cottage by the lake to farmhouse in the country to beach house to urban loft.
What else? We design and build furniture for many styles of homes. The furniture you see is our own. We design it and build it. Want a farm table of a certain size? Cupboard? Shaker Peg Rail? You get the picture.
 In 1998 we opened Main Street Trading Company (now The Period House) in the quaint town of Milford, Ohio, which is inside the Cincinnati beltway.
Specializing in the very finest craftsmanship centered around 18th & 19th century farm tables, country sofa's and settees, reproduction antique cupboards, Shaker Peg Rails, American folk art, and whole lot of useful home accessories including dinnerware, linens, and cooks tools.
Within a few years, we outgrew our 1826 brick Georgian and moved our shop a few buildings down the street into a beautiful Greek Revival complete with large doric columns, wainscot walls, and spectacular multi-light windows. At that time, we renamed the store to The Period House.
